Corvette Stingray Tops Speed
Both Corvettes deliver eye-popping numbers in terms of performance. The 455-horsepower engine has enough power to accelerate the car, enabling it to reach 60 miles an hour in just 3.8 seconds with the manual transmission and a split second faster with the 8 speed automatic.

It can reach quarter mile speed at 11.9 seconds with the automatic, and a flat 12 seconds with the seven-speed manual.
With the souped-up V8 engine available in the Z06 trim, the Stingray can run to 60 miles an hour from a standstill in an amazing 3.2 seconds. It is even quicker with the automatic, clocking in at 2.95 seconds.

Another impressive feature of the Stingray is that it has very good fuel economy ratings for a sports car. The Z06 has ratings of 15 mpg for city driving and 22 mpg on highway driving for manual transmission, and 13/21/16 for the 8-speed automatic.
The base model has better ratings of 17 mpg for city, 29 for highway, and 21 combined when the 7-speed manual. For the 8 speed automatic, the ratings are 16/29/20.

While the Corvette Stingray is fast, it does have certain functions designed to lower the risks of it getting into accidents. It has a Performance Traction Management system, keeping the car balanced and easy to control. But make no mistake about it— the Stingray is still balanced and poised on the road, even with all the aids off.
